glance...is a wood product expressing the idea of structural lightness in a repetitively manufactured furniture element.
Identical slats are held in compression by lateral rods to create the “side...glance” chair. The combinations and configurations of the slats are proposed as a public seating version “public...glance” and a bench version “private...glance”.
This project was developed and entered into the IFDA 5th International Furniture Design Competition 2002
The International Furniture Design Competition is held in conjunction with the International Furniture Fair in Asahikawa, Japan, The 2002 Competition received 820 entries from 46 countries/regions. Nine award-winning works and 21 final pieces were selected for exhibition.
