WSC : Wire Structure Combinations : 1982
WSC is a system of commercial and institutional furniture : the Work/Seat Combination : the Work/Stool Combination and the Work/Surface Combination.
The furniture's function, materials and aethetics respond to available low-cost furniture manufacturing technologies. Wire form base structures support the work chairs seat and back which are thin walled die-cast zinc shell upholstered with neoprene. Table tops are plastic laminate, metal components are epoxy coated steel and all thermoplastic materials are integrally colored.
This project was awarded a 1983 Progressive Architecture International Conceptual Furniture Design Competition Award.
