Bernhardt Sinistra Side Chair

Bernhardt
: Sinistra chair : 1987

The Bernhardt company introduced Sinistra as part of the Opus collection of furniture designed by leading architects and designers.

Sinistra is an asymmetric response to Bernhardt's technical ability to form wood veneer laminates into complex three-dimensional forms. It is the meeting of two chairs in one object : the generic side chair and the traditional barrel chair.

The project received the following awards :

1987           IBD Gold Award : Institute of Business Designers.
1988           International Design Magazine Annual Design Review : Award

Bernhardt furniture, also designed by Paul Haigh, includes the
Enigma chair and Opera seating.
